Staying the Course

As the economic conditions continue to falter and challenges become closer to home for all of us, we must remember that it is the ones that stay the course and survive these times who will be the future leaders.

Economic challenge is all around us right now.  Everyone reading this knows of someone personally who is facing foreclosure or bankruptcy.  Those are the times we are in.  I am shocked, daily, at the people in my own circle facing these battles.

From veteran entrepreneurs, to stable corporate types, these times have crossed all lines of strength and experience.  My own cash flow and stability has been affected and I fight every day to stay serene so that I bring a whole person to my role as a husband and a father.

As Family First Entrepreneurs, we have to remember that the reason we are building financial stability is to have more “space” available to the ones we love.  Money buys that space.  But when money is not there or when it’s going away, it becomes about maintaining our priorities, using self care, extending faith and being gentle with ourselves because this too will change.

It’s not about always being on top.  It’s about enjoying the process of success and failure because both of these will always show up.  Our families will benefit from our perspective because we come to the table present and available to love them without the baggage of shame when things aren’t going right.
