Why I Wrote ONO
Submitted by marcwarnke on Wed, 04/08/2009 - 10:11I hope you get a good long laugh out of the dorky screen shot below...I can't help it. YouTube won't let me change it. But the content is good, I promise. continue reading...
Satisfaction Shift
Submitted by marcwarnke on Wed, 10/29/2008 - 15:16As the leader of this ever-building movement of Family First Entrepreneurs, I feel a duty to be on the cutting edge and to gather information pertinent to our group. My best resource has always been reading for information. I’m currently reading a book called Influencer by Kerry Patterson. It is a case study about how famous and successful “Influencers” changed behavior patterns in the people they helped continue reading...
Work Your Blessings
Submitted by marcwarnke on Fri, 08/29/2008 - 14:07We have all been blessed with gifts in our personal and business lives. Generally, I find that we all know what these gifts are, and many of us use these gifts to help produce income. I know it’s not new news to hear that we should do what we do best and then hire or partner out the rest, but, as Family First Entrepreneurs this tactic helps us work more efficiently and also gives us more time with loved ones. continue reading...
Re: Entrepreneurial Children
Submitted by marcwarnke on Wed, 08/27/2008 - 14:08One of my readers read my blog, “Entrepreneurial Children” and wrote me this response. Great story.
Your blog, “Entrepreneurial Children” made me think of a story about my neighbor and I had to share this story with you. continue reading...
Definition of Wealth
Submitted by marcwarnke on Fri, 08/22/2008 - 14:09Most people define wealth in terms of possessions; the more you “have,” the wealthier you are. It’s about the car, the house, the clothes, etc. As a Family First Entrepreneur I define wealth in terms of how much available time you have to spend with your loved ones, as well as how much time you have to give of yourself in the pursuit of your higher purpose. So give me a small house, a couple of used cars, a Ross Dress for Less wardrobe and two full time parents who get to enjoy the more delicious side of life. That is my definition of wealth. continue reading...
Peaceful Saving
Submitted by marcwarnke on Wed, 08/20/2008 - 14:11When I am working hard and making good money there is a little part of me that feels that I validate my hard work by buying stuff. Good food, toys for the kids, trinkets I don’t need, toys for myself, and on and on. I noticed this desire again recently, and I realized that I have learned to channel that desire into saving and that saving has become my new validation. continue reading...
Balance
Submitted by marcwarnke on Thu, 07/24/2008 - 11:08As Family First Entrepreneurs we must be aware of balancing our necessary work ethic with our duty to the people we love. I’ve heard people say, “I worked sixteen hours a day for years to make this happen.” When I hear that kind of thing, as a family man, my first thought is concern for the kids and spousal relationship. continue reading...
ONO Guy
Submitted by marcwarnke on Mon, 07/21/2008 - 11:10I’ve been asked several times lately, “What’s with the little fishn’ guy all over your site and book stuff?” Well let me tell you.
He is a Hawaiian petroglyph that is the sign of the fisherman. Just so you know, I’ve been signing my name with him for about ten years. I also have him tattooed on my left foot. Let me tell you the little known story of how he became significant in my life. continue reading...
Jobs vs. Business
Submitted by marcwarnke on Wed, 07/09/2008 - 12:41There is a lot of rhetoric out there right now about the theory that there is no way to be financially successful if you have a regular J-O-B. Take it from me, after six years of working with every kind and size of business in America, I have found that there are many, many businesses that take more time and pay less money than a good job. However, I do believe that being in an entrepreneurial venture offers one the ability to create what I call the Right Formula. continue reading...
Smart “Wants” Consumption
Submitted by marcwarnke on Mon, 06/23/2008 - 10:20In my book, ONO, Options, Not Obligations, I talk about controlling your consumption to create wealth. My basic premise is that it’s not about how much you make, it’s about how much you invest entrepreneurially. The largest mistake I see people make is in their consumption of what I call “wants,” things that they want, as opposed to things that they need. continue reading...
