Ultimate Faith

I had a coffee meeting with a new acquaintance today and we hit it off immediately. I would describe her as an “old soul” and wow, is she one sharp business woman! We were talking about spirituality in business and what it meant for both of us.

She came at it from a different direction than I did, but we both shared stories in which a higher power’s presence was so clear in our business dealings that it was undeniable. We both spoke of the serenity we were able to find because a loving entity was looking out for us. It just so happened that we both called that loving entity “God.”

I told her that I never judge people who have a different belief system than mine, only that I felt sorry for people with no higher power at all. I believe these people have the most faith of us all.

What did he just say, did I heard that right? Yes, you heard me correctly, but let me explain. What I mean is it would require an unreal amount of faith to hold on to the belief that there is nothing greater than ourselves involved in our daily lives. The birth of a child, a narrow scrape with death, a sun set, a lucky break, or even a simple walk with a good friend are all examples of the evidence of a higher power to me. Because I maintain a vigilant contact with God in my business life, my head hits the pillow almost every night unburdened, and for this I am thankful.
