Tony Dungy is Living the ONO Life
Earlier this week, head coach of the Indianapolis Colts, Tony Dungy, announced his retirement from the game of football. Dungy is a great coach, a great leader, but most importantly, Tony Dungy is a great man of high moral character and a Family First Entrepreneur.
In his farewell speech to the media, Dungy talked about why he is walking away from the game of football even though he still could have many more successful coaching seasons. His answer, “I think I’ve got a responsibility to be home a little bit more, be available to my family a little bit more and do some things to help make our country better.” “I want to do something more with my family and something that would connect more with my goals,” he said. “Where my heart is, is really with our young men right now. We have so many guys that didn’t grow up like me, didn’t have their dad there and that’s something I’m very, very interested in.”
Tony Dungy gets it. He has ONO. He is living the life that I talk about throughout my book. Dungy has made enough money to retire, play golf, and sit on the beach everyday for the rest of his life if he wanted to. Instead, he is choosing to fulfill a higher purpose. He wants to make a difference in the world.
Now that is a man we can all look up to.
