Stay at Home Moms

I know and mentor several stay at home moms that bring in extra income to their families on the side. I think these opportunities are much more available to all moms than most realize. My sister, for example, works a few hours a week from home booking appointments for retirement specialists and she makes good money doing it. There is no selling involved, she just has to be professional and organized. She does this with two small daughters in the house; one is three and the other is five. They know when it is Mommy’s work time and they have been taught to respect that. She does most of her work when they are napping, playing, or in preschool.

The actual time she spent working last month was 64 hours, and she brought home $1400. So if she pocketed $400 and had some fun with it, and invested the remaining $1000 at a 10% return rate, in 20 years she would have over $759,000. Wow, when the kids fly the nest she could be well on her way to becoming a millionaire just by working 16 hours a week. Now get this, if she just left that money in investments for an additional ten years, totaling thirty, she would have over $2 million. Talk about Mom grabbing the bull by the horns, wow.

You say, “But Marc, I want to enjoy the money as it grows.” I say, yes you can, but only the surplus above the ten percent per year. Call it your fun money. This will keep you on track. I believe it will be about separating needs and wants and learning to live on the growing income Dad is making. I talk extensively about this in the book. Dad makes the living nine to five, Mom makes the fortune in her spare time. I will blog on this more and I am putting together an online program that moms can plug into for cheap. I am *definitely* interested

I am *definitely* interested in working from home.  I am taking summer courses right now and after that, I will still have another year of university left before obtaining my Honours BA (French Major).  I would love to be able to work from home a few hours a week.  I am bilingual and have excellent communication skills, both on the phone and in writing.  I hope to hear from you -- even if it's just a quick email with some website addresses of trustworthy companies.  I'm in Canada, by the way... but can invest in a Canada-US long distance plan if necessary.

Thanks in advance!

P.S.  I'm also a recovering alcoholic/addict with 3 plus years clean.  I burned a lot of bridges when I was drinking and using (then again, who hasn't?), and had to declare bankruptcy, so I am financing my university education with some savings, as well as scholarships and bursaries.  So far, so good!
