The Message
As I speak and write about the topic of Family First Entrepreneurism, I am continually amazed at how ready people are to hear this message. We, as people, seem to be looking around right now at our “signs of wealth” and we ask ourselves, “Was the time away from the things that really count worth the time it took to get these material things.”
Family First Entrepreneurs look at wealth creation as a vehicle to create the best situation possible for their families. Mostly, available time, which you have to buy. To have lots of available time you have to create wealth and control consumption. It’s a second thought for them to think of the “things” wealth can bring.
Some might think I have a judgment of possessions, I do not. In fact I love them. What I won’t allow is the cost of those possessions to force me to make decisions that take time away from my family. That’s what the FFE movement is all about. Creating wealth so one has more options in their life to spend time with who they love. If you figure out how to get there, the choices to get the “things” you want will be easy.
One reader said to me recently that money itself does not buy happiness and I couldn’t agree more. Money is only a vehicle that allows someone to have more control over their time and choices, and in the hands of a FFE these two things can be put to good use, benefiting us all.
