Balance
As Family First Entrepreneurs we must be aware of balancing our necessary work ethic with our duty to the people we love. I’ve heard people say, “I worked sixteen hours a day for years to make this happen.” When I hear that kind of thing, as a family man, my first thought is concern for the kids and spousal relationship.
When you’re spending 16 hours a day for extended periods of time creating wealth you become a visitor in your own home with only the title of mom or dad. As parents, I think there are few of us who don’t get a body chill at the thought of being a visitor in your own home.
I have to remind myself that because I have chosen the path of “family first,” I have to be willing to allow things to take a little longer to grow. I believe that in the long run I will be more profitable because I will be more happy, fulfilled, and serene. For me, this is an ingredient that I can’t miss or the “gumbo of life” will taste like missed opportunity.
If you like this you would love ONO.
